Biography and Past Experience

In 1985, District Attorney Carl A. Vergari appointed Doug to the position of Assistant District Attorney for Westchester County. As a prosecutor in the local courts, Doug was responsible for prosecuting an immense caseload of misdemeanor offenses throughout Westchester County. These cases included DWIs, assaults, larcenies and many drug-related as well as preparing felonies for prosecution in the higher courts.

Doug was later promoted to the Grand Jury Bureau of the District Attorney’s Office. Then he was appointed to the Supreme Court Trial Division where he gained critical courtroom experience trying felonies and winning convictions against many serious offenders.

In 1988, Doug entered private practice as an attorney with the firm of Martino & Weiss. In the two decades since, Doug has represented hundreds of individuals in criminal court. Also, Doug has represented persons, municipalities, and businesses in civil and commercial matters in State and Federal Courts. He has likewise developed a reputation as a skilled litigator in matters involving domestic relations, divorce and child custody. Above all, Doug has remained committed to practicing law with integrity, good temperament and a respect for his adversaries. Doug is admitted to practice before the State Courts of New York and Connecticut and the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.

Doug received his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 1984 where he graduated in the top 1% of class (Law Review, Notes & Comments Editor). American Jurisprudence Awards: Remedies, Family Law and Real Estate.

Doug is currently serving as President of the Armonk Lions Club, the local chapter of Lions Club International.

An avid bicyclist, each year Doug joins hundreds of other riders on the 100 mile MS Bike Tour around Manhattan Island, through the Palisades and up to Haverstraw and back, in the process raising thousands of dollars for MS New York. This money will go towards helping aid those who suffer from this illness and help find a cure.

Doug is also an active member of Saint Patrick Church in Armonk, where he teaches CCD to seventh and eighth graders and is a Mass Lector. Doug and his family currently reside in Armonk, New York.
